Being a middle-aged divorcee who has stumbled into the dating world, I have come to realize that dating at this time in your life can be interesting…to say the least. Some of the things that I have experienced have literally made my left eye twitch and caused me to utter curse words that I would not normally EVER say!!

I have often said I am going to write a book of dating stories because they are just too unbelievable NOT to share. In the course of talking about this with friends I have heard some of their dating stories and suffered ‘sympathy twitching’ on their behalf. Thus, in August of 2011, “Dating Tourettes” was born over on another site.

Since then I have delved into the world of online dating and have soooo much more to share.

Time and time again I have been asked, “What’s wrong with you? Why are you single?” Well the answer to that is quite simple: I suffer from intellect. That’s right – I am an intelligent woman. It’s not about what’s wrong with me…it’s about what’s right with me. I refuse to settle.

I hope you enjoy my personal dating nightmares.

Be safe out there my middle-aged brothers and sisters
and know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

  1. Your blog is hilarious. I will definitely have to send you one of my many crazy dating stories. Good luck on your future dating experiences and thanks for stopping by my blog.

  2. Not that I want you to continue to have these experiences, but I must say, they are hilarious! It’s like the blog version of good, clean, very funny standup comedy! It’s almost unbelievable this was actually your experience! But that said, I know there are a lot of really, really stupid men out there. Even those of us who have high standards of morality and respect can find ourselves doing and saying very dumb stuff at the most inopportune times. But these guys…wow. They must have no feet left for all the shooting themselves in the feet they’ve done.

By the way, with the “Lies Women Tell” page, I think you should think of things you or women you know have done or said that are purposefully deceiving or diversionary in nature, being candid and honest with yourselves, and thus your readers. Go beyond the obvious and talk about the subconscious too, if you dare! Have fun with it, and enlighten us men at the same time. 🙂

Awesome blog, very therapeutic amidst all we’ve otherwise endured in the past.

    1. Thank you very much! I believe that something good must come from every experience even if it’s just for a good laugh upon reflection.

That’s a great idea for the “Lies Women Tell” page. I’m not perfect. I’m just as guilty as the next person.

      And life moves on…

  3. Just found your site and read one post, love it. I am mid life, divorced and dating and like to settle eventually with the dream man if he exists. I will read through your posts eagerly and enjoy them. It is good to know how others do it and feel. Thanks for being so open.
